I value the relationships these community connections represent, and the opportunity to learn and engage with the local nonprofit, creative arts, and queer communities that they gave me.
Professional experience
I began my career in Washington DC with a nonfiction book publisher, first in editorial work and then as a publicist for our general interest program. I leveraged conferences, reviews, email marketing, and media coverage to publicize my titles. My crowning achievement was securing one of my authors a spot on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
I moved to Cleveland and switched to the finance industry, where I specialized in marketing, communications, and project management. My last corporate position was at Charles Schwab, where I was a communication manager, responsible for implementing annual communication plans for clients in the financial and legal sectors.
I am currently working on a freelance/contract basis, primarily on marketing, communications, and public relations projects for small and startup nonprofits and businesses. I also offer nonprofit development consulting, and work with new or new-to-development organizations to help them grow their profile, extend their community reach, and align their mission, values, and structure. I am dedicated to continuing to build community organizations that serve unmet needs in the city I love.
